The patients are admitted in the IVF department and after the IVF operation, they are transferred to the recovery room and discharged after waking up.

IVF includes the following steps:

A: Ovarian stimulation stage
Before fertilization, in order to obtain eggs, the woman is prescribed ovulation induction drugs, and the condition of ovarian and uterine follicles is checked by ultrasound and blood tests.

B: Oocyte collection stage
- After proper stimulation of the ovaries and injection of ovulation stimulating drug (HCG), about 36 hours later is the right time to extract the eggs (oocyte).

- The special needle is passed through (vagina) and then the pelvic area and is brought to the ovaries, which is done under the control of vaginal ultrasound. At this stage, they use anesthesia, painkiller injection or intravenous sedative to eliminate the pain.

- After extraction, they are checked for the quality and maturity of the eggs, and according to that, the eggs are kept in the laboratory environment for the necessary time.

C: Sperm collection stage
On the same day of egg extraction, the woman's wife should prepare the sperm sample in a special sterile container. Usually, the sperm sample is washed twice in the laboratory and in this way, the quality of the sperms is improved and, for example, more mobile sperms are used for fertilization. Finally, they use the highest quality sperms for fertilization.

D: Fertilization and embryo culture stage
In order to perform fertilization, they add the best quality sperms to the collected eggs. Usually, 100,000 sperm are used for each egg.
About 12 to 18 hours after fertilization, they evaluate the eggs and ensure their fertility and proper condition.

E: Embryo transfer stage

About two to five days after the eggs are extracted, after the resulting embryo has gone through the stages of growth, it is inserted into the uterus through a catheter through the cervix. This stage is usually quick and painless. Two weeks after embryo transfer, a pregnancy blood test is performed. If the pregnancy blood test is positive, two to three weeks later, an ultrasound is performed to check the pregnancy status.
